Would I buy it now? Hell no, im saving up for a bike. It is a matter of priorities, where you are from, living standards, job or not, student or not and so on. Be careful not to get on the DCS simulator train (I bought the stick for DCS A10C), it is just too awesome. The pedals add a bit of an extra cost, which kinda puts it in the expensive~ish category. This is a hard question, do you have money to spend? The Warthog alone is actually not that expensive, considering it is for an otherwise relatively inexpensive hobby (gaming). But it will still feel cheep (and doesnt have nearly enough hat switches or buttons for E:D, unlike the Warthog). The X52 being a budget option has many popular upgrades and tweaks (guides available all over the internets) so it can actually perform quite well if you invest time and some money. Exactly like such an investment should be. It is very sturdy, but if you are nice with it it can be very sturdy and solid. I still havent changed it on mine (and I have it for 2 years) but it can improve things a lot. The Warthog has some small issues like the quality of the grease the manufacturer used. Google whatever you purchased and see how you can take care of yours. Regarding durability, no matter what stick you get it will take some wear damage (:D). Especially if you are not playing flight sims hardcore (even if you are, the saitek pedals are quite good). Thats the best bang/buck in my opinion and more or less a standard solution. Both are essentially the same, the combat ones are slightly more expensive and look a bit better. Saitek Pro Flight or the Saitek Combat pedals.
